About This Role

Lead, manage, and develop a team of high-performing Relationship Managers within the Commercial Bank's South Central Division for Wells Fargo, with a focus on client engagement and strategic business development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of high-performing Relationship Managers
  • Engage with clients and drive business development
  • Provide expertise on commercial relationship management, including anticipating business needs and managing expectations
  • Oversee financial analyses, client presentations, and partner engagement, ensuring risk assessment
  • Serve as a strategic advisor internally and externally, shaping team priorities and execution
  • Represent Wells Fargo externally with clients, prospects, and the community
  • Exercise good judgment and serve as a trusted escalation point for employees and clients
  • Influence across the organization, collaborating with senior leaders and driving value-added partnerships
  • Cultivate a strong talent pipeline, foster a high-performance culture, and mentor emerging leaders
  • Lead the team in delivering the full Wells Fargo platform, establishing best practices for partnering with product groups

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management or leadership experience
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management or leadership experience, and 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Nice to Have

  • Deep expertise in core commercial banking products and services (lending, treasury management, financial solutions)
  • Completion of a formal credit training program
  • Proven history of managing high-value commercial relationships ($25MM to $2B revenue segment)
  • Established professional network within San Antonio and broader market
  • Ability to provide strategic leadership and oversight to a team of Commercial Bankers
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a strong, cohesive team culture
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and supporting professional development
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across business lines
  • Demonstrated success in generating new client relationships and cultivating partnerships
  • Strong risk discipline and experience identifying, mitigating, and managing risk
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
