About This Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care, including daily living activities and personal care. This role involves performing clinical skills under the direction of nursing staff and ensuring a comfortable patient environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing care such as positioning, lifting, turning, and assisting with personal hygiene
• Takes and accurately records vital signs, weight, height, and intake/output measurements
• Prepares patient rooms and beds for admission and transfers, ensuring necessary equipment is available
• Maintains an attractive and comfortable environment for patients with attention to cleanliness, ventilation, and lighting
• Assists with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling patient belongings
• Responds to patient call lights, telephones, and paging systems as appropriate
• Performs routine treatment procedures and releases, removes, and reapplies restraints under RN direction
• Assists with complicated patient treatment procedures under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or LVN/LPN
• Serves and removes patient meal trays in a timely manner and assists with feeding as needed

Requirements

• Current Nursing Assistant Certification
• BLS Certification
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to organize tasks, set priorities, and function under stressful situations

Qualifications

• Completion of course for nursing assistants
• Minimum six months' experience in acute or long-term care facility
