Cloud Architect

About This Role

The Cloud Architect leads the definition and design of robust and secure infrastructure solutions on Azure, prioritizing scalability and high performance for digital products. This role champions a Cloud-first strategy, managing development activities from design to delivery, and mentoring teams in Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and design of robust cloud infrastructure solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, and security
• Partner with Cyber and Security teams to embed security controls into all infrastructure designs
• Develop proof-of-concepts for innovative ideas and infrastructure advancements
• Oversee and guide teams in designing, developing, and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions
• Manage cloud infrastructure costs, budgets, and cost forecasting
• Provide strategic recommendations for business prioritization, roadmaps, and product enhancements
• Champion DevOps practices for continuous delivery and self-healing systems
• Lead project deliverables across multiple workstreams with high quality and engineering discipline
• Promote and uphold Agile and Scrum methodologies in development processes
• Mentor others through technical and professional growth

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent
• 6+ years experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), stateless distributed architectures, and designing for scalability and performance
• 6+ years experience with .Net, HTML5/CSS3, and WCF technologies
• 5+ years of experience with Azure designing and delivering high-volume, highly scalable, and performant solutions on large-scale globally distributed systems
• 1+ year leadership/management experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience within Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), stateless distributed architectures, and designing for scalability and performance

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud providers
• Experience with BI Tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qliksense) and DI Tools (Informatica)
• Experience with PaaS services, leading practices, and adoption patterns
• Experience with IaaS, such as Microsoft SQL Server and database administration (e.g., Always On)
• Experience with networking, firewalls, load-balancers in Azure and on-premise
• Experience analyzing and manipulating data on Excel or similar tools
• Experience with cost management on Azure or any CSP, including cost saving techniques
• Experience with messaging architectures SOAP and REST with JSON text encoding
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and other common backend Microsoft technologies
• Experience building sustainable relationships with colleagues and key individuals
• Experience automating the provisioning and automation of architectures and solutions (Infrastructure-as-Code)
• Understanding of event-driven and delegate-based design paradigms
• Experience in data modeling techniques and knowledge of various normal forms
• Experience in developing of IT architecture plans and software development methodologies
