Cloud Architect

About This Role

This role involves envisioning, developing, and leading the technical aspects of new digital products as a Manager, Cloud Architecture. The individual will be responsible for defining and designing robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily within Azure, and driving a Cloud-first strategy for software development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and design of robust infrastructure solutions prioritizing scalability, high performance, and secure network architecture.
• Partner with Cyber and Security teams to embed security controls within all infrastructure designs.
• Develop proof-of-concepts to showcase the feasibility of innovative ideas and infrastructure advancements.
• Own the design of security at both network and identity levels, ensuring secure access controls and authentication.
• Provide technical support for analysis of business requirements and their applicability to platform capabilities.
• Participate in E2E functionality assessment during validation testing phases (SIT, UAT).
• Manage the cost of cloud infrastructure, including budgets and cost forecasting.
• Drive recommendations for business prioritization, roadmaps, and product improvements.
• Design efficient, secure, adaptable, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions using Azure infrastructure and platform services.
• Embrace and enforce DevOps practices, Agile, and Scrum development methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
• 6+ years experience in OOD, UML, stateless distributed architectures, and designing for scalability/performance
• Experience with .Net, HTML5/CSS3, WCF technologies
• 5+ years experience with Azure designing and delivering high-volume, scalable solutions
• 1+ year leadership/management experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent educational or professional experience.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience within Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), stateless distributed architectures, and designing for scalability and performance, especially within .Net, HTML5/CSS3, and WCF technologies. 5+ years of experience with Azure with a proven record of designing and delivering high-volume, highly scalable, and performant solutions on large-scale globally distributed systems. Minimum 1 year leadership/management experience.

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud providers
• Experience with BI Tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qliksense)
• Experience with DI Tools (Informatica)
• Experience with PaaS and IaaS services (Microsoft SQL Server, database administration)
• Experience with networking, firewalls, load-balancers in Azure and on-premise
• Experience analyzing and manipulating data on Excel
• Experience with cost management on Azure or other CSPs, and cost-saving techniques
• Experience with messaging architectures (SOAP, REST with JSON)
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and common backend Microsoft technologies
• Experience automating provisioning and architectures (Infrastructure-as-Code)
• Understanding of event-driven and delegate-based design paradigms
• Experience in data modeling techniques and normal forms
• Experience in developing IT architecture plans and software development methodologies
