Clinical Support I (Lab)

About This Role

The Support I, Clinical (Lab) is responsible for receiving, preparing, and accessioning laboratory specimens for analysis and testing. This role involves data entry, processing, and other technical and non-technical laboratory duties under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Unload and unpack specimens, route by type to staging areas
• Record shipments and package temperatures according to policies
• Manage waste and sort/load automated lines for processing
• Remove and relabel rejected specimens, manually accession samples
• Unload exception samples from the automation system
• Groom clotted samples and transport to non-automated lab areas
• Perform and record department maintenance for functions and equipment
• Prepare offline samples for testing (centrifuge and uncap)
• Assist technical staff in specimen processing and preparation
• Document work activities and information in LIS or paper logs for regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
