Clinical Nurse II: Neurosciences & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

About This Role

The Clinical Nurse II in Neurosciences & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit contributes to a compassionate environment, providing direct patient care, administering medications, and evaluating diagnostic tests for patients with neurological conditions. Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, and start IVs
• Perform treatments, procedures, and special tests
• Document treatment as required by company policy and regulations
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
• Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered
• Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
• Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing

Requirements

• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree)
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care (new grads encouraged)
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills
• Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
• Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care, new grads welcome to apply
