Clinical Nurse II - Float Pool

About This Role

The Clinical Nurse II in the Float Pool contributes to a compassionate and caring environment by implementing physician orders, administering medications, and performing treatments. This role focuses on assessing and evaluating patient needs and outcomes while collaborating with the nursing team on patient care plans.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments and procedures.
• Document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
• Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.

Requirements

• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
• 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
