Claims Manager

About This Role

Manage a portfolio of high-severity excess construction liability claims across the U.S., including complex litigation and NY Labor Law exposures. This role involves coverage analysis, liability evaluation, and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Handle a portfolio of excess construction liability claims nationwide, including matters involving New York Labor Law, catastrophic losses, and multi-party litigation
• Perform thorough coverage analysis, evaluate liability and damages, and establish timely and appropriate reserves
• Attend and participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and trials—both virtually and in person—as needed
• Deliver strategic claim guidance and updates to internal stakeholders including underwriters, profit center leaders, actuaries, and reinsurers
• Analyze trends and contribute to risk management strategy across the excess construction book

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 5 years of experience handling excess construction claims, including experience with NY Labor Law exposures
• Strong litigation management, negotiation, and settlement skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a collaborative mindset
• Willingness to travel as required by caseload and business needs
• Hold or obtain necessary adjuster licenses
