This is an account-focused role responsible for selling and supporting all products within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD). The Account Manager will maintain long-lasting customer relationships, develop strategic growth opportunities, and provide sales expertise and mentorship to drive commercial activities.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize new client opportunities and develop solution implementation and growth strategies
- Lead and nurture account relationships to drive expansion and renewals across the full CMD portfolio (analytical instruments, consumables, services)
- Provide product assistance, consultation, and problem-solving to customers
- Identify, document, and confirm the best technology choice to meet customer needs
- Provide quotation, negotiate contracts, and close orders with end-users and purchasing departments
- Expand current account penetration and share of wallet to grow organically
- Develop sales strategies to meet plan and expand business within assigned territory
- Maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed all sales objectives
- Lead teamwork and coordination with technical sales specialists and other internal partners
- Attend and run technical business presentations, trade shows, user meetings, and customer events
Requirements
- BS degree in Chemistry or related life science field
- Solid understanding of Chromatography (GC and HPLC)
- Knowledge of Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS and LC/MS)
- Knowledge of Chromatography Information Data Systems (CDS/LIMS)
Qualifications
- BS degree in Chemistry or related life science field
- Entry level with selling experience strongly preferred
Nice to Have
- Two years of selling experience
- Broad familiarity with biotech, pharmaceutical, academia research, medical research, environmental, food/flavors, clinical/toxicology, forensics, and petrochemical/petroleum industries
- Experience developing and completing sales and/or field marketing plans
- Knowledgeable with competitive landscape for chromatography products and services
- Ability to identify new target accounts and develop territory plans
- Prior experience forecasting and use of a CRM (SFDC) for reporting
- Experience in leading independent selling or distribution channels
