As an Assistant Teacher, you will work collaboratively with teachers and families to provide a nurturing and safe environment for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old, adhering to NAEYC guidelines. Your role ensures children's safety and engagement in activities, while fostering a healthy learning space.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years
- Assist teachers with instruction in the classroom
- Decorate inside and outside of classrooms as needed
- Maintain a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore
- Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities
- Provide effective communication with parents/guardians about their child
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized
- Ability to work within regular operating hours
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment
