Chief Engineer

About This Role

The Chief Engineer is responsible for maintaining hotel systems, leading maintenance efforts, and ensuring guest satisfaction by quickly addressing maintenance issues in a hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests in a timely manner and provide great guest service
• Perform preventative maintenance duties and procedures as needed
• Lead a team of Building Maintenance Tech I and II to complete tasks as assigned by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (QUORE)
• Perform a variety of tasks assigned by the Assistant General Manager and General Manager
• Perform HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting projects
• Oversee all 3rd party outside contractors
• Respond to emergency situations promptly
• Always maintain a professional appearance

Requirements

• 2+ years experience as a Building Maintenance Tech/Engineer or 4-5 years of experience in a related field
• Experience managing at least one subordinate
• Proficient knowledge of hand tools and maintenance duties
• Time management capability to accomplish work within established parameters
• Customer service focus and the ability to anticipate guest needs

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Building Maintenance Tech/Engineer or 4-5 years in a related field
