Lead the Engineering team, overseeing all aspects of building maintenance, repair, and operations for a high level of tenant satisfaction, safety, and efficiency. This role involves managing systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, budgeting, and supervising staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Monitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations
- Oversee contractor work and manage tenant improvement projects
- Prepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop and implement performance goals and staff development plans
- Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable building operations and address tenant issues
- Work with vendors to identify scopes of work and oversee compliance with contract terms and quality control
- Conduct thorough inspections; maintain detailed documentation and service logs for building equipment; maintain compliance logs
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA regulations; manage safety protocols, including lockout/tagout program; oversee safety training
- Communicate verbally and in writing with teammates, leadership team, vendors, tenants, and client employees professionally
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- At least 10 years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience
- At least 5 years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems
- Strong troubleshooting, capital budgeting, and energy management skills/practices
- Strong contract administration and project management skills
- Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements
- Ability to act as the primary point of contact/first responder for building emergencies and work after hours, weekends, holidays
- Competent knowledge of use and care of tools
- Ability to read and write English to understand manuals and procedures, and to write reports
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- At least ten years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience; at least five years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience.
