About This Role

Lead the Engineering team, overseeing all aspects of building maintenance, repair, and operations for a high level of tenant satisfaction, safety, and efficiency. This role involves managing systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, budgeting, and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Monitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations
  • Oversee contractor work and manage tenant improvement projects
  • Prepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop and implement performance goals and staff development plans
  • Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable building operations and address tenant issues
  • Work with vendors to identify scopes of work and oversee compliance with contract terms and quality control
  • Conduct thorough inspections; maintain detailed documentation and service logs for building equipment; maintain compliance logs
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA regulations; manage safety protocols, including lockout/tagout program; oversee safety training
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with teammates, leadership team, vendors, tenants, and client employees professionally

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience
  • At least 5 years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems
  • Strong troubleshooting, capital budgeting, and energy management skills/practices
  • Strong contract administration and project management skills
  • Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements
  • Ability to act as the primary point of contact/first responder for building emergencies and work after hours, weekends, holidays
  • Competent knowledge of use and care of tools
  • Ability to read and write English to understand manuals and procedures, and to write reports

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • At least ten years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience; at least five years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience.
