Certified Nurse Assistant

About This Role

Assist professional staff by performing various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of residents. Deliver direct resident care including bathing, personal grooming, and feeding, as directed by supervisors. Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance to residents including bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting
• Prepare residents for meals, serving and collecting trays, assisting with feeding, and distributing water and nourishments
• Assist residents with transferring and lifting, including raising and turning residents in beds; apply restraints as directed
• Obtain and record temperatures, urine samples, weights, and intake/output for residents
• Monitor residents regularly to ensure comfort, dignity, and privacy, responding promptly to call lights and inquiries
• Attend all mandatory in-services and department meetings as required
• Clean resident units, IV poles, ice bucket/ladles, and wheelchairs as assigned
• Assist in transporting residents to and from therapy clinics, ensuring safety and comfort
• Assist in the administration of rehabilitation programs as directed by therapists, performing non-therapist functions
• Provide direct restorative care and delegated formalized rehabilitation tasks, completing work accurately and safely

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Certified Nurse Aide program
• NYS Current Certification as a Certified Nurse Aide
• In good standing with the NYS Aide Registry

Qualifications

• H.S Diploma or GED preferred
• On the job training provided; Six months Nurse Attendant experience in a hospital/skilled facility or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
