Certified Medication Aide

About This Role

This role is for a Certified Medication Aide to join the team at Lubbock Health Care Center, responsible for accurate and compassionate medication administration to residents.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed PO, topical (unbroken skin), and rectal medications per physician’s orders and company policy
• Monitor and report any adverse medication reactions or changes in resident status
• Record all medication administration in compliance with policies
• Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment
• Safeguard the confidentiality of resident information
• Follow all infection control procedures during medication administration
• Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse

Requirements

• Current Texas Medication Aide certification
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures
• Ability to communicate clearly and demonstrate patience, discipline, and professionalism
• Close attention to detail for accurate documentation
