This role is for a Certified Medication Aide to join the team at Lubbock Health Care Center, responsible for accurate and compassionate medication administration to residents.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed PO, topical (unbroken skin), and rectal medications per physician’s orders and company policy
- Monitor and report any adverse medication reactions or changes in resident status
- Record all medication administration in compliance with policies
- Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment
- Safeguard the confidentiality of resident information
- Follow all infection control procedures during medication administration
- Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse
Requirements
- Current Texas Medication Aide certification
- Experience and competence in medication administration procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly and demonstrate patience, discipline, and professionalism
- Close attention to detail for accurate documentation
