Certified Medication Aide (CMA) (L1MA)

About This Role

This role involves safely administering medications under licensed supervision and providing hands-on support for daily living activities to residents in Assisted Living Memory Care communities. The Certified Medication Aide plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and home-like environment for residents, while offering support to families and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff in accordance with Missouri regulations
• Verify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observations
• Monitor residents for medication responses and promptly report adverse reactions or concerns
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility
• Accurately observe, record, and report resident care, conditions, concerns, and food intake/output
• Recognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staff
• Complete admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required
• Support coworkers by providing assistance as needed
• Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms and common areas
• Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and assist with tours of the community as needed

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Certified Medication Aide / Med Level One course with certification in the State of Missouri
• Active certification maintained in good standing
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a Memory Care team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
• Compassionate, patient, and resident-centered approach to care
• Professional communication skills and reliability

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Willingness to complete Med Level One training at the community, if applicable
