Category Manager

About This Role

This Category Manager role focuses on developing and executing strategic plans for product categories to drive sales growth and achieve business targets. The role involves analyzing market data, collaborating cross-functionally, and building strong supplier partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Develop a competitive category and product brand strategy aligned with business goals and objectives
• Build and execute annual category plans, including growth targets, margin goals, and market share objectives
• Own and drive category KPI performance
• Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to enhance product strategy
• Monitor competitors and adapt product offerings to maintain market competitiveness
• Define optimal SKU assortment by line within each category
• Lead product introductions, line reviews, and assortment rationalization based on market data and customer insights
• Partner with Pricing and Finance to balance category competitiveness and profitability
• Collaborate with Sales and Pricing on account-specific plans for key customers
• Lead supplier negotiations and manage contracts, including terms, conditions, and allowances

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years in a Category Manager or Merchandising leadership role
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent leadership skills and proficiency to work in a team environment
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and computer literacy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years in a Category Manager or Merchandising leadership role

Nice to Have

• Experience in Power BI or similar business intelligence software
