Caregiver

About This Role

As a Caregiver, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care to seniors, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves assisting residents with daily living activities and maintaining a supportive, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide residents' care including grooming, bathing, dressing, and oral care daily and as needed
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in the resident's room
• Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics
• Record resident vital signs, weights, measurements, intake/output, and food consumption
• Routinely turn and position residents as necessary, preparing their room with essential items
• Ensure a report has been given regarding residents at the beginning of each shift
• Respond to call lights/buzzers promptly and courteously
• Seek assistance from the charge nurse when unsure of an assignment, procedure, or situation
• Provide care that protects and promotes resident rights, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
• Observe and immediately report unusual occurrences or significant changes in resident's condition to the Charge Nurse

Requirements

• Effective verbal and written English communication skills
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
• Demonstrate practical interpersonal skills and sound judgment

Qualifications

• Prior experience giving personal care to individuals in a health care setting preferred
