Career and College Counselor

About This Role

Provide comprehensive guidance and counseling services to students within a prevention curriculum, focusing on career awareness, exploration, and post-secondary planning. This role collaborates with various stakeholders to support student success in academic and career pathways.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom guidance lessons and small group sessions using ASCA National Model career standards
• Deliver career awareness and career exploration lessons to all students, grades 9-12, and support 8th graders transitioning to high school
• Collaborate with caseload counselors to ensure a career planning process for 9-12 students
• Deliver guidance lessons and individual planning on career pathways and ECAP
• Manage educational career action plans (ECAP) lessons
• Provide resources for teachers to integrate career, academic, and personal/social standards into curricula
• Conduct in-service programs for faculty, parents, and community members on career opportunities
• Serve as the primary liaison to the Pima JTED to support students in central campus programs
• Assist with program scheduling and class selection with a focus on career pathways and post-secondary planning
• Support work-based learning opportunities including internships and off-campus career promotion

Requirements

• Guidance Counselor certification from the Arizona Department of Education
• Experience working within the schools
• Arizona Driver's License
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Qualifications

• Experience working within the schools

Nice to Have

• Classroom teaching experience
• Three Years' Experience As a Professional School Counselor
• Experience with career and post-secondary programs
• Fluency in both Spanish and English
