The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant will provide direct, high-quality patient-centered care in an outpatient setting in collaboration with physicians. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing complex cardiovascular care, advocating for patients, and educating families on treatment regimens.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to patients in the outpatient setting in collaboration with physicians
- Provide high quality patient-centered care, advocacy and education for patients and their families
- Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients and family
- Educate patient and family members ensuring they understand care, testing, medical conditions and treatment
- Clinical management in collaboration with physicians and hospital-based APPs
- Diagnose, treat and manage complex cardiovascular care including acute and chronic disease, medication management and other therapies
- Identify diagnostic information that should be considered emergent and communicate timely information to physician colleague
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant (PA-C), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or Adult Geriatric Primary Care (AGPCNP) in Connecticut
- Strong clinical background and the ability to diagnose, treat and manage complex cardiovascular care
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients and family
Qualifications
- Master’s Program Graduate
- Experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
