Cardiac Surgery ICU Nurse

About This Role

Provide direct patient care to assigned patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU at Brigham and Women's Hospital, adhering to established nursing standards and clinical practice guidelines. This role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for individuals with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual
• Demonstrate initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs
• Assume full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care
• Maintain a Massachusetts Registered Nurse license

Requirements

• Prior ICU experience
• Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience
• Basic analytic thinking skills
• Observational skills and ability to set priorities
• Ability to function under stress
• Good interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Nursing required or equivalent experience
• Prior ICU experience required, cardiac surgery, VAD, CVVH, IABP, Impella experience preferred.
