Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

About This Role

Assist Cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional procedures, perform quality control, and ensure proper patient care by collaborating with hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist Cardiologist in performing Diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Perform quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer
• Evaluate all orders, verify them with cardiologist and ensure proper lab results and history for contraindications if applicable
• Familiarize with various interventional equipment and wires to assist the cardiologist
• Interact with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions
• Maintain performance skills
• Routinely work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, when needed

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology
• Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas
• Current ARRT Licensure or active certification with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as an (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or (RCES) Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology

Nice to Have

• 2 years prior Special Procedure and/or Radiographer experience
• Membership in related professional organization
• Current certification in Interventional Angiography
