About This Role

As a Captain at Bacco Restaurant & Bar, you will oversee the complete guest dining experience within your assigned station, setting the standard for service excellence. This role involves managing the guest journey from arrival to departure, selling food and beverages, and coordinating with support staff to ensure seamless service.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of an assigned station and oversee the complete guest dining experience
  • Welcome guests warmly and deliver consistent, professional, and gracious service
  • Sell and serve food and beverages using approved service techniques
  • Describe menu items, daily features, and changes; answer questions related to food, beverage, and wine offerings
  • Maintain awareness of table status, pacing, and upcoming courses to ensure seamless service flow
  • Communicate continuously with Back Servers, Food Runners, Bussers, and kitchen teams
  • Assist with food expediting to maintain proper timing and coordination with the kitchen
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve concerns promptly and professionally
  • Ensure accuracy of guest checks, present them in a timely manner, and process payments efficiently
  • Coordinate table maintenance, clearing, resetting, and stocking in collaboration with support staff

Requirements

  • Must meet minimum legal age requirements to serve alcohol
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food, wine, and beverage offerings
  • Thorough understanding of fine-dining service standards and procedures
  • Ability to describe menu items, preparation methods, and pricing using suggestive selling techniques
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications
  • Strong numerical skills and accuracy in cash and check handling
  • Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example in a team environment

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of fine-dining or comparable food service experience preferred
