About This Role

Lead and manage Canonical's Business Services Team, overseeing efficient travel, logistics, event planning, and expense management. This role has a direct impact on every team, coordinating large-scale company events and ensuring global policies are maintained with integrity and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efficient and effective travel, logistics, event, scheduling, expense policy and administration functions
  • Coordinate large-scale company events four times a year, involving travel for hundreds of people from 80+ countries
  • Oversee travel procurement and logistics for events, ensuring efficiency and safety
  • Serve as an independent check on expense claim approval, ensuring fairness and consistency
  • Provide traditional 'EA' services across departments, setting expectations for specific work types
  • Manage and ensure compliance with global duty of care, health and safety programs
  • Oversee planning and venue selection for company events, including scheduling, operations, and safety reviews

Requirements

  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical or business subject
  • Drive, and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Demonstrable good judgment in matters involving money, policy and in-person interactions
  • Ability to work in a global, multicultural organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility
  • Responsibility, accountability, thoughtfulness and self-awareness
  • Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
  • Ability to travel up to four times a year, for company events up to two weeks long

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in a technical or business subject
