Business Operations Director

About This Role

Lead cross-functional initiatives, optimize operational processes, and drive strategic business outcomes for Microsoft's National Security & Trust (NST) team. This role focuses on enhancing industrial security programs and ensuring alignment between business goals and execution.

Responsibilities

• Implement NST internal and external communication and mechanisms, including Monthly Business Reviews and Key Performance Indicators
• Create industrial security processes, manage workflow changes, and establish escalation procedures
• Identify efficiencies and opportunities for automation to enhance Microsoft’s National Industrial Security Program
• Maintain the rhythm of business (ROB) during plan execution, ensuring communication and response cadence
• Leverage data and performance metrics to demonstrate value and business impact of NST industrial security programs
• Collaborate with NST team leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to execute and improve operations
• Manage operations, project, and vendor budgets, determining capacity and scheduling plans
• Lead and coordinate business process change management in a portfolio of projects
• Develop, implement, and refine operational processes for efficiency and scalability

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security Clearance
• Ability to meet Microsoft and government security screening requirements
• Pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
• Verification of U.S citizenship

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) or equivalent experience
• 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

Nice to Have

• Master's Degree in relevant field AND 12+ years experience OR Bachelor's Degree AND 15+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
• 10+ years’ program managing and/or supporting intelligence community, defense industrial base, program security, law enforcement, corporate security, or incident response
• 5+ years’ experience with the operation and monitoring of compliance programs
• Experience interpreting and aligning programs to Intelligence Community Directives, Department of War policies (DD254s, Cognizant Security Authorities), NISPOM
