Business Lead - Amazon Recycle, WW R&R

About This Role

The Business Lead for Amazon Recycle, an agile and innovative organization, is dedicated to eliminating defects that cause returns for customers, the company, and the environment. This role will set the long-term strategy, lead and execute Amazon's recycling and circularity initiatives, and manage the end-to-end P&L for the Amazon Recycle business. The leader will thrive in a fast-paced analytical environment, solving complex problems that improve customer experience and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Create and execute strategies to grow, scale, and improve the efficiency of Amazon recycling and circularity initiatives, translating business strategy into actionable plans.
• Operational Optimization: Enhance Amazon's current recycling processes to reduce waste and improve customer experience.
• Executive level stakeholder management: Partner with leadership to develop long-range business strategies and annual operating plans for Amazon Recycle programs.
• Data Analysis: Drive forecasting, scenario planning, and financial modeling in partnership with Finance, using business and consumer insights to guide portfolio performance.
• Leadership reporting: Create and manage business review materials, and deep-dive analyses to guide decisions and leadership alignment.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Legal, PR, Finance, Operations) to execute launch plans and performance improvement initiatives.
• Team Development: Develop and mentor junior team members and foster cross-functional alignment around Amazon's strategic B2B recommerce goals.
• Vendor & Relationship Management: Manage relationships with external recyclers (3P/1P vendors) and negotiate contracts for reverse logistics services.
• Financial Performance: Own the P&L for Amazon Recycle and optimize the "recovery value" of recycled products and improve overall financial performance.
• Sustainability & Circularity: Obsess over sustainability and circularity by relentlessly reducing waste and extending the life of products through innovative recycling strategies.

Requirements

• 6+ years of retail, operations, product or program management or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
• MBA, or experience using data and analytics to drive sales strategy and results
• Experience working cross functionally across finance, marketing or supply chain
