The Business Development Specialist will be the central contact for independent agency partners in the Midwest Region, driving sales of property and casualty insurance products. This role focuses on acquiring and retaining profitable accounts through strong relationship building and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the central point of contact for independent agency partners
- Promote sales of various property and casualty products through the independent agency system
- Acquire and retain profitable accounts through sound underwriting principles
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency partners
- Cultivate new agency relationships in the territory
- Support Underwriting with account selection
- Direct policyholder service
- Work with agents to set strategic goals through annual planning sessions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of commercial, multi-line, P&C marketing and underwriting experience
- Excellent knowledge of the independent agency system, specifically the P&C marketplace
- Superior underwriting technical experience
- Valid Driver’s license
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Four or more years of commercial, multi-line, P&C marketing and underwriting experience
Nice to Have
- Industry designations such as CIC or CPCU
- Experience developing new accounts in the Texas market
