About This Role

This role involves developing and executing business development strategies to drive growth and market presence for a professional services firm, focusing on building client relationships and expanding visibility. It requires a strategic individual adept at engaging internally and externally to secure new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with firm objectives
  • Identify new markets, clients, and service opportunities to expand the firm’s reach and visibility
  • Partner with attorneys to identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities
  • Facilitate introductions between attorneys and prospective clients, and conduct client/prospect needs assessments
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive activity, translating data into strategic recommendations
  • Lead the development of compelling proposals, pitch materials, and presentations
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Engage in community and business organizations to strengthen the firm’s brand and referral network
  • Work cross-functionally with partners, practice groups, and marketing teams to ensure alignment
  • Track business development activities, outcomes, and refine strategies based on performance data

Requirements

  • 8+ years of business development experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing business development and growth strategies
  • Established professional network and strong relationship-building capabilities
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry and professional services landscape
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Law, or a related field
  • Minimum of eight years of business development experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment

Nice to Have

  • MBA or Juris Doctor (JD)
