This role involves developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and expand market presence within the Colorado region for retail Accident & Health (A&H) products. The Business Development Manager will collaborate with the regional underwriting team and nurture stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business leads, build relationships, and promote A&H insurance products in partnership with the Regional A&H Manager and underwriting team
- Develop and implement strategic sales and distribution plans to achieve sales targets, maximize revenue, and expand market presence
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline, target progression, and sales metrics
- Identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and potential clients to develop effective sales strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including clients, brokers, and insurance partners
- Coordinate with Underwriting to develop client proposals, negotiate terms, and close high-value contracts
- Collaborate with other departments like Underwriting, Claims, Regional Distribution, and Marketing to ensure alignment of business objectives
- Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes, sharing insights with the team
- Prepare and present strategic sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management
- Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, tools, and systems to streamline operations and enhance productivity
- Uphold company values, ethical standards, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Build a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and a customer-centric approach
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field
- 3+ years of successful sales experience in the insurance industry
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, services, and market trends, including underwriting and claims processes
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies and achieve revenue targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Proactive, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in relevant sales software and Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant sales experience with a proven track record of successful sales activity in the insurance industry
