Business Analyst

About This Role

This Business Analyst serves as the primary liaison between IT and business stakeholders, gathering and documenting functional requirements for software development and enhancement projects. This role involves researching project feasibility, facilitating solution development, and supporting quality assurance efforts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison and point of contact between IT and assigned functional business areas for software development projects
• Coordinate the process of obtaining functional requirements from business stakeholders using elicitation techniques
• Perform research and analysis for proposed projects to determine feasibility and present findings to management
• Facilitate the development of software solutions and transfer knowledge of software program requirements to the IT Customer Support team
• Create detailed documentation of functional, system (non-functional), user, and reporting requirements
• Perform profiling and analysis of data from source systems
• Support quality assurance and control efforts through data analysis for pre- and post-implementation reviews
• Provide support to functional and user acceptance testing groups as part of project implementation
• Assist with the creation of the value proposition (ROI) for proposed projects
• Maintain a system enhancement request database and coordinate the related application enhancement release schedule
• Work jointly with IT Managers to create detailed project work plans for software development and enhancement projects
• Coordinate status meetings and produce progress reports
• Maintain and build working relationships with software application vendors

Requirements

• 2+ years of business analysis experience
• 1+ year of work experience with business systems related to system support, analysis or development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, IT or related field or minimum of 5 years of experience in a business or technical analysis role
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with business analysis and 1 year with business systems related to system support, analysis or development

Nice to Have

• Business Analysis or Project Management Professional certification
• Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) for data analysis
