Bus Driver

About This Role

Drive a school bus safely on all scheduled routes to transport children to and from school and approved activities, communicating with teachers and parents, and working a split shift.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus on all scheduled routes to and from school as well as approved activities
• Always operate within the legal speed limits and in safe fashion without exception
• Communicate with teachers, parents and children to meet the needs of each transported child
• Work a split shift – leaving the middle of your day free

Requirements

• Ability to relate positively with young children
• Ability to drive school bus to transport children to and from school
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record for the last five years
• Valid driver’s license
• Demonstrate knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Ability to commit to a split shift schedule
• Must be first aid and child/adult CPR certified
• Successful background check and VA licensing standards required
• At least 23 years of age

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prefer some college course work related to early childhood education
