Beauty Advisor

About This Role

The Beauty Advisor provides exceptional customer service, manages cashier tasks, maintains visual merchandising standards, and contributes to store cleanliness, all while supporting leadership in achieving sales goals and operational compliance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and omni-channel sales.
• Deliver exceptional service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, and recommending products/services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events.
• Stay informed regarding new and existing products and services.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app with guests.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training for professional development and sales performance.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall store cleanliness.

Requirements

• Passion for guest service and competency for selling
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Continuous mobility throughout the store
• Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting
• Continuous and/or frequent lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 25 lbs.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred
