Beauty Advisor

About This Role

This Beauty Advisor role is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by engaging with customers, performing cashier tasks, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store cleanliness. The position supports the leadership team through a focus on sales performance, outstanding guest service, and adherence to operating procedures. It requires a passion for the beauty industry and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service, answering questions, informing about promotions, and recommending products
• Courteously handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events
• Stay informed regarding new and existing products and services, including ingredients and benefits
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, credit, and the Ulta Beauty app
• Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business
• Regularly participate in ongoing brand and category training for continuous professional development
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code
• Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed and faced, and ensuring testers are available
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall store cleanliness
• Participate in completing merchandise resets, planograms, marketing, physical inventory, and processing shipments
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices

Requirements

• Demonstrates a passion for guest service and competency for selling
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
