Beauty Advisor

About This Role

The Beauty Advisor provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by determining individual needs, performing cashier tasks, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store cleanliness. This role supports the leadership team through performance focus, guest service, and process adherence.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, answering questions, informing about promotions, and recommending products/services
• Courteously handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest service
• Book appointments for and support execution of services and in-store events
• Stay informed regarding new and existing products and services, including ingredients and benefits
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business
• Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, for professional development and sales performance
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code
• Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed and faced, and ensuring testers are available
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall store cleanliness across all areas
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing/advertising displays, physical inventory, and processing/unloading shipments
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices

Requirements

• Passion for guest service and competency for selling
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred
