Beauty Advisor

About This Role

The Beauty Advisor provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by engaging with them, determining their individual needs, performing cashier tasks, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store cleanliness. This role supports the leadership team through a focus on sales performance, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni-channel sales, and retail shrink
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, answering questions, informing about promotions, and recommending products/services
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges, and assist with on-line orders
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events
• Stay informed regarding new and existing products and services, and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, credit, and the Ulta Beauty app with guests
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business
• Regularly participate in ongoing training for continuous professional development and sales performance
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code
• Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed and faced, and ensuring testers are available
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall store cleanliness
• Participate in completing merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory, and processing/unloading shipments
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service

Requirements

• Passion for guest service and competency for selling
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred
