Beauty Advisor

About This Role

The Beauty Advisor provides exceptional guest experiences by determining individual needs, performing cashier tasks, stocking merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting the leadership team through a focus on sales and guest service. This role requires a passion for beauty, strong guest service skills, and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, answering questions, informing about promotions, and recommending products/services.
• Courteously handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest service.
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services, including ingredients and benefits.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and internal/external guests.
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Regularly participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed, faced, and ensuring testers are available.
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall store cleanliness.

Requirements

• Demonstrated passion for guest service and competency for selling
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred
