Beauty Advisor

About This Role

This Beauty Advisor role ensures an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by determining individual needs, performing cashier tasks, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store cleanliness. The Advisor supports the leadership team by focusing on sales performance, guest service, and adherence to operating procedures, requiring a passion for beauty, strong guest service skills, and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, answering questions, informing about promotions, and recommending products/services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders courteously.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest service.
• Book and support execution of services and in-store events to achieve sales goals and provide an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed on new and existing products and services, including ingredients and benefits, to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment supporting teammates, peers, and guests.
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, credit, and the Ulta Beauty app with guests.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training for continuous professional development and sales performance.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards, and adhere to the dress code.
• Drive sales by keeping assigned work areas replenished, signed, faced, and ensuring testers are available.
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall cleanliness.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing/advertising displays, physical inventory, and processing/unloading shipments.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service.

Requirements

• Passion for guest service and competency for selling
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred
