The Batching Operator Lead is responsible for all batching activities to meet production demand, ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met in compliance with legal and food safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Precisely stage kits and verify physical ingredients against batch sheets and product recipes
- Collaborate with Production and Quality Assurance Technician on analytical results, making modifications as needed
- Accurately document lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates on formulas per customer regulations
- Perform cleaning and sanitation of batching equipment and fillers (CIP’s, foaming, hand brushing)
- Operate forklift to load/move various ingredients, adhering to all safety procedures
- Adhere to company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations
- Abide by Niagara’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Standards
- Maintain general housekeeping and quality in batching, production, and assigned areas
- Accurately complete hourly inspection sheets based on overall product quality
- Provide status reports during shift handoff (batches produced, quality, results)
- Work with PM team to ensure PM’s are completed timely
- Report non-compliance and food safety issues to management
- Assist with training of Batching Operators
Requirements
- 4+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
- 4+ years experience in a similar position
- 4+ years experience managing people/projects
- Proficient knowledge of Tetra System and batching flow to production and Plant Master reporting
- Ability to speak effectively with management and employees at all levels
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work up to 12 hour shifts, day or night, overtime
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to visually inspect product and materials
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, in this position, and managing people/projects
