The Support Operator performs daily tasks and activities to support general Manufacturing Operations, including operating equipment, maintaining supplies, and assisting machine operators. The role ensures an orderly work area and adherence to EHS, Quality, and Food Safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment and systems supporting manufacturing (e.g., carton assembly machines, RICO roll movers, dust collection system, scrap cart)
- Perform simple preventative maintenance activities on equipment (lubrication, cleaning)
- Replenish departmental supplies to established inventory levels
- Assist machine operator in maintaining an orderly work area by staging rolls, removing empty cores, and collecting used jaws
- Perform general housekeeping activities including sweeping, dusting, and emptying trash
- Follow all applicable EHS, Quality and Food Safety procedures and protocols, and report any incidents
- Complete all EHS, Quality and Food Safety applicable training
- Support implementation of the Quality and Food Safety program
Requirements
- 2-3 years within a manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word)
- Demonstrated safety commitment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable with use of measurements and hand tools
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; additional related training is preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years within a Manufacturing environment.
Nice to Have
- Additional related training
- Experience with high volume, high speed operations
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Controls (SPC)
- SAP skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presentation and negotiation skills
