About This Role

This role involves meticulously assessing and repairing customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition, ensuring customer satisfaction through quality work. The Auto Body Technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles, contributing significantly to the company's promise of speed, quality, and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers
  • Use various tools (cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, pliers) to repair vehicle sections
  • Hammer out dents, dimples, and minor body damage; apply filler resins for dents not repairable by other methods
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage
  • Remove and replace damaged vehicle sections with new or aftermarket parts
  • Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior parts as needed
  • Weld and attach parts into place; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified or equivalent paint
  • Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines
  • Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
  • Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
  • Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
  • Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
  • Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, plus successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
