The Athletic Trainer provides direct patient care in a medical/physician office setting at UCHealth UCHth Parkview Medical Center. This role involves evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, collaborating across disciplines and serving as a liaison to coordinate care
- Assist the physician and advanced practice provider in the prescribed plan of care, including measuring, applying, and adjusting casts, splints, braces, and ambulatory assistive devices
- Provide clinical education and expert guidance to patients and families as it pertains to procedures and plan of care
- Utilize critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Certification by National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA)
- Registration with the State of Colorado as an Athletic Trainer
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- 1 year of experience in an orthopedic setting providing direct patient care
