Associate General Counsel

About This Role

This role involves supporting a premier real estate investment firm by providing legal advice on real estate transactions, managing complex agreements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and conducting legal due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and financing.
• Manage complex agreements including drafting and negotiating purchase, sale and joint venture agreements.
• Maintain regulatory compliance including understanding all relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the real estate investment sector.
• Conduct legal due diligence on potential real estate investments, identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Manage and oversee litigation matters related to real estate investments.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure legal and ethical compliance across the organization.
• Supervise paralegals and support staff.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant commercial real estate experience
• JD and in good standing in at least one state
• Strong understanding of real estate transactions, contracts and regulatory compliance
• Experience with a variety of complex commercial real estate transactions, including development, acquisition, disposition, leasing, construction and financing transactions
