The Associate Director, FP&A within the Clinical Research Group partners with senior business stakeholders to provide financial governance over study and project authorizations, delivering actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. This role involves leading a small team and ensuring financial rigor and alignment with business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner with operational and project delivery teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant study-level financial approvals.
- Establish and enforce financial controls related to RPO, budget change authorizations, and scope amendments.
- Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Develop solutions to new and complex analytical problem statements while enhancing existing analyses.
- Function as a trusted finance business partner, providing financial guidance and strategic insights.
- Prepare and present analyses during key strategic business cycles like STRAP, AOP, and Forecasts.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and development for 1-2 FP&A team members.
- Review, challenge, and elevate analytical outputs to ensure consistency, quality, and relevance for senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 8+ years finance FP&A experience
- 5+ years of management responsibility
- Outstanding leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong systems and data analytic capabilities including Oracle, Power BI/Tableau, SQL, SFDC
- In-depth knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices
- Advanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years of finance FP&A experience. 5+ years of management responsibility.
