This role involves supporting the Experience Manager in leading a team of stylists and estheticians to drive services and merchandise sales in hair and skin. It encompasses all aspects of the services business, including guest satisfaction and operational excellence, while also providing direct services to guests.
Responsibilities
- Perform salon hair services, makeup applications, and skincare analysis for guests
- Achieve individual productivity goals each week
- Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed store goals related to service and merchandise sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink
- Drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control
- Support the planning and execution of services events to deliver an unrivaled guest experience and meet sales/payroll goals
- Review, analyze, and react to Ulta Beauty’s financial and operational reporting, including services visits and audit results
- Address underperforming metrics related to service sales and develop strategies using company programs, tools, and resources
- Stay informed regarding new and existing industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests
- Support in the attraction, hiring, and retention of a diverse team of service professional top talent
- Build a highly engaged team through effective collaboration, open communication, prioritization of work, and coaching
- Train, coach, and develop services professionals using company programs, tools, and resources
- Create an inclusive environment that inspires growth and engagement of associates via required training and educational programs
- Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards for the store
- Manage salon supply inventory and the ordering process, adhering to the allocated budget
- Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all store standards and operating procedures are met
Requirements
- Cosmetology school graduate
- Cosmetology license and/or cosmetology management license where required by state law
- 2-3+ years relevant, fast-paced salon management work experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of state board of cosmetology regulations and hiring requirements
- Proficiency with latest salon techniques for performing haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing services or aptitude to develop skills
- Proficient with basic technology (Point of Sale system, Microsoft Office programs, and Apple devices)
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable
Qualifications
- Cosmetology school graduate
- 2-3+ years relevant, fast-paced salon management work experience or other relevant work experience
