Assistant Health Care Director

About This Role

The Assistant Health Care Director will help lead the nursing team, supporting clinical services and supervising nursing staff to ensure residents receive excellent direct care. This role involves managing medication, conducting health assessments, and providing direct care when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of the nursing department including recruiting, training, scheduling, and ensuring quality of care
• Verify the proper distribution and required documentation of medication, treatments and orders
• Participate in regular resident assessments and service planning, and follow up with ancillary health care services as needed
• Assist with the move-in and move-out process including tours, orientation, evaluations and family communications
• Provide direct care when needed, such as during health emergencies or to fill an open shift
• Assume the Health Care Director's responsibilities in their absence, and relay concerns to the Director

Requirements

• Current nursing license (RN or LPN)
• CPR certification
• At least 1 year of prior relevant experience

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of prior relevant experience

Nice to Have

• Previous supervisory experience, preferably in senior living
