Assistant Director of Nursing

About This Role

This role involves handling and preparing food according to sanitary regulations, ensuring nutritionally appropriate meals for residents, and cooperating with dietary and other departments to provide high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Handle and prepare food in accordance with all federal, state and local sanitary regulations
• Prepare nutritionally appropriate and appetizing meals for all residents, including modified consistency and therapeutic diets
• Meet required meal schedules and snack schedules
• Take accurate measures to avoid food waste
• Properly care for dietary equipment and production sheets
• Follow menus and special diet instructions
• Communicate freely with the Director of Dietary Services
• Cooperate with other kitchen and dietary department staff as well as other departments involved in foodservice activities
• Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere
• Perform other duties as requested

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in the English language
• Annual verification of a negative TB skin test (required once hired)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Experience in institutional food handling
• Servsafe certification
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, internet based programs and intranet based resources
