Asphalt Dispatcher

About This Role

This role involves processing and coordinating the phone sales and distribution of asphalt and crushed concrete products. You will be responsible for order entry, coordination, and shipping based on customer orders, requiring day-to-day communication with employees and customers.

Responsibilities

• Process and coordinate phone sales and distribution of asphalt and crushed concrete products for multiple plants
• Perform order entry, coordination, and shipping based on customer orders
• Communicate daily with other employees and customers
• Be aware of special jobsite conditions requiring specific trucks, spacing, and material needs
• Familiarize with the delivery area and assist lost drivers in finding jobsites and determining travel times
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain composure under stressful, high-paced conditions
• Build rapport and relationships with team members, customers, and vendors
• Communicate effectively with customers and truck drivers to dispatch orders timely and efficiently
• Utilize GPS tracking software and enter orders into dispatch scheduling software
• Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors/managers with other duties as required

Requirements

• Minimum high school/general education degree (GED)
• 5 years of Dispatching experience
• 2 years experience in Aggregate, Asphalt, or Ready Mix
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and truck drivers
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and perform under pressure
• Proficient computer knowledge
• Ability to act quickly and creatively to solve problems, work independently and make decisions

Qualifications

• Minimum high school/general education degree (GED) required.
• 5 years of Dispatching experience, with at least 2 years experience in Aggregate, Asphalt, or Ready Mix. Previous experience in dispatch for asphalt & aggregate or transportation industry preferred.
