Serve and safeguard clients in a government corrections location as an Armed Courthouse Driver. This role involves monitoring assigned areas, responding to incidents, and completing detailed reports while maintaining a visible security presence.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, housing areas, and perimeter
- Support controlled access operations by verifying identification, processing visitors and vendors, and following entry and exit procedures
- Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and/or other surveillance systems, and communicate observed issues to site leadership and/or appropriate authorities
- Assist with controlled movement of inmates and/or detainees as directed by site procedures, including escorts within designated areas
- Observe for policy violations, suspicious activity, and/or prohibited items
- Deter unauthorized activity through visible presence and reporting
- Complete reports and documentation related to incidents, patrol activity, access logs, and/or other required records
- Coordinate with facility staff and local responders during incidents, including relaying information, securing areas, and supporting scene control
- Maintain post orders, equipment accountability, and readiness of assigned gear, and report maintenance and/or operational concerns
Requirements
- Valid driver's license for the state where the job is located
- Armed guard card/license
- Minimum of 2 years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience OR a college degree
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
