APQP QA Development Engineer

About This Role

The Project/Design Quality Assurance Engineer ensures project integrity, provides quality feedback to customers, and contributes to project quality, customer satisfaction, and quality improvement targets for Safran Electrical & Power, a global leader in aeronautical electrical systems. This role is crucial for making design processes more robust and compliant with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement the program/project quality plan in line with SAFRAN referential and customer requirements
• Contribute to the preparation and represent quality at project/program gate reviews
• Participate in project risks/opportunities reviews and ensure acceptable risk levels are agreed and communicated
• Participate in change control board reviews where required
• Lead on customer interaction for quality escapes and requests for customer approvals
• Ensure compliance with all customer, regulatory, ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements and audits
• Lead process, system, or product audits and ensure deployment through the team
• Gather and document all necessary information and facts relating to quality issues, ensuring robust corrective actions are assigned and delivered
• Integrate Quality throughout the System/Product Design Review process and drive standardised mitigation plans
• Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem solving activities
• Support the lessons learned process to improve organization efficiency and product maturity
• Integrate Quality standard methodologies into Engineering/Program Teams through maturity/audits assessments
• Drive and manage improvement projects to support Engineering/Program targets
• Assist Design Engineering teams as the Design Quality Engineer focal point
• Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans for project/program performance improvement
• Support Development Deviations management (Problem Solving/8D, Concessions, Milestones Recommendations, Audits NC)
• Support definition of measurable criteria for project/program deliverable quality

Requirements

• Proven customer management experience
• Solid understanding of contractual and regulatory requirements including ISO9001 and AS9100
• Proven technical experience of Engineering, Industrialization, manufacturing and quality processes
• Ability to lead quality investigation and compile appropriate reports and coach others
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to solve problems using tools such as Process FMEA/8D/SPC
• Self-motivated and able to prioritize own workload
