About This Role

Manage and inspect aircraft maintenance activities, including overhauls, modifications, and repairs of aircraft structures, engines, and electrical systems. This role also involves scheduling maintenance, ordering parts, and performing ground-run operational checks for Kachemak Bay Flying Service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and inspect aircraft maintenance activities including overhauls, modifications, maintenance and repair of aircraft structures, engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, and accessories
  • Schedule aircraft maintenance considering factors such as work flow, equipment location, tools, supplies, and job requirements
  • Order parts, lubricants, and other supplies in a timely manner to minimize aircraft downtime
  • Assist in preparing aircraft for inspections and services
  • Perform scheduled inspections and services; annotate logbook and records
  • Perform ground-run operational checks and trouble-shooting
  • Accomplish operator maintenance on ground equipment, test sets, and special tools
  • Solve moderate problems by conducting analysis using manufacturer technical documentation
  • Use available on-line manuals and industry standardized documentation to access critical information for services
  • Work with supply personnel to order and receive parts per work order instructions
  • Accomplish other support tasks as assigned by the Chief or Lead Mechanic
  • Lead maintenance teams and supervise junior mechanics

Requirements

  • Valid FAA A&P Mechanic Certificate
  • Five (5) years' experience performing aircraft maintenance functions that require a valid FAA A&P
  • Five (5) years' experience interacting with Federal Aviation Administration Principal Operations Inspectors, Principal Maintenance Inspectors or Aviation Safety Inspectors
  • Previously certified or qualified to perform aircraft engine ground runs or test
  • A&P experience in repairing general aviation fixed wing aircraft
  • Average skills at using the Microsoft Office Suite computer
  • Thorough knowledge of basic aircraft systems

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience performing aircraft maintenance functions that require a valid FAA A&P; 5+ years' experience interacting with Federal Aviation Administration Principal Operations Inspectors, Principal Maintenance Inspectors or Aviation Safety Inspectors.

Nice to Have

  • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  • Robinson experience with certification preferred
  • Similar experience in Rotary Wing aircraft
  • Previous experience supporting avionics installation and repair
