Manage the daily commercial aviation operations for Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS) at Temple Draughon-Miller Regional Airport. Oversee multifaceted air and ground operations, supervise personnel, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic business development for KBFS Temple, identifying new opportunities to improve operations
- Manage the organization's profit and loss to budget with monthly accountability to the General Manager
- Manage General Aviation and Avionics Repair operations for commercial and government customers
- Manage daily aviation air and ground operations, including scheduling, mission planning, and briefings
- Manage fixed and rotary wing aircraft on site and coordinate with the Director of Maintenance for aircraft readiness
- Provide management support for government operations under DCMA 8210.1d and service regulations
- Supervise selected KBFS-Temple employees performing FAA designated functions
- Interface with FAA, Veterans Administration, Chamber of Commerce, and other agencies
- Provide weekly business updates to the General Manager, including project management, personnel management, and financial performance
Requirements
- Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience
- 15 years of related management experience
- 5 years in Rotary Wing or Fixed Wing aviation (civilian or military) experience
- 5 years of experience managing profit and loss for a commercial aviation business unit
- Broad Subject Matter Expertise in 14 CFR Parts 135 and/or 141 operations
- Maintenance management experience in military or 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station
- Ability to independently perform technical, business, personnel, financial, and logistics requirements of medium/large size project or program
- Ability to independently implement higher headquarters' annual and quarterly strategies and reports
- Prior experience in a site leader equivalent position for up to 25 aviation specialists
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent experience
- 15 years of related management experience, with 5 years in Rotary Wing or Fixed Wing aviation (civilian or military) and 5 years managing profit and loss for a commercial aviation business unit.
Nice to Have
- Military aviation experience
- FAA commercial pilot (rotary and/or fixed wing; ATP) experience
